Ashland prides itself in being a community with a commitment to education. Having a University in the center of town provides learners of all ages the opportunity to further explore knowledge and creativity beginning at the Kindergarten through High School stages.

The Ashland Chamber and Visitor and Convention Bureau produces the Ashland Culinary Festival each November that includes a chef competition, workshops, tastings and tours. New in 2016, the first ever Junior Chef Competition took place showcasing some very talented high school aspiring chefs. (watch video below). The intention of the competition was to connect high school aged kids to the culinary world and emphasize the educational opportunities that lie ahead for them.
