Ashland, OR – September 28, 2015 - Polymath, LLC, a bookkeeping firm in Ashland, Oregon, has been selected as one of only 20 Firms of the Future in a nationwide contest sponsored by Intuit. Hundreds of large and small accounting and bookkeeping firms submitted video entries in an attempt to describe how their current business practices are leveraging technology to change the way they do business – now and in the future.

Intuit develops financial and tax preparation software for small businesses, accountants and individuals. Their flagship products include QuickBooks, TurboTax, Quicken and Mint. Earlier this year, Intuit invited accounting and bookkeeping firms throughout the country to submit a 30-second to two-minute video showcasing their vision for the future of their firm.

Polymath, LLC, a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®, is one of only four firms selected that are located on the West Coast, and the only firm from Oregon. Ingrid Edstrom started Polymath, LLC in 2008 in order to provide high quality and much needed bookkeeping services to local business owners, giving them more time to focus on turning their visions into success stories.

Darren Root, author of The Intentional Accountant, and co-developer of the contest criteria described the intent of the contest as “Identifying those firms with an entrepreneurial and future-ready approach to practice leadership and operations today will encourage others to create a business that they love and that drives success for their clients now and for years to come.”

Specifically, firms were asked to describe their vision of the future, detail the extent to which they take advantage of cloud-based technology, their digital document delivery strategy and process, and the ways in which they leverage the web and social networking to interact with clients and meet prospective clients. Intuit described as overwhelming the number of entries, showcasing the depth and progress of future-ready firms across the United States.

The success of a small, rural team, shows that a business does not need to be large or in a metropolitan area to be a trendsetter in its industry. Edstrom said, “In many respects, our Firm of the Future relies on the rather old-fashioned model of building great relationships and providing exceptional customer service. However, we also work hard at keeping our business on the cutting edge of technology so we can provide the best service possible to our clients. We are thrilled that Intuit saw the value in everything we do.” Polymath’s entry can be viewed online at http://polymath.com/firm-of-the-future/.
