Sophie Nathenson is an Assistant Professor of Medical Sociology at Oregon Tech, Klamath Falls, where she directs the Population Health Management Program and Population Health Management Research Center. She holds B.S. degrees in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Tulsa and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Utah. Her academic research has focused on coping with cancer, religion and health, and preventative medicine. After working as a teacher and entrepreneur in the Czech Republic, Sophie moved to Oregon to pursue a career in program and community development, starting the Population Health Management B.S Program at Oregon Tech. Her program and students take a sociological approach to Population Health Management, developing community projects that address issues such as food insecurity, education, youth health and safety, emergency preparedness, and community engagement in healthcare.
Oregon Tech is a polytechnic university located in Klamath Falls, Oregon with additional campuses in Wilsonville, OR and on the Boeing campus.
