U.S. Bank is the largest bank in Oregon. With roots dating back to 1891, it is also one of its most historic. U.S. Bank has 196 branches across the state where it employs more than 4,800 people statewide. The local branch has nine dedicated workers.
Local Branch Manager Meiwen Richards personifies community relationships. She talked about the U.S. Bank culture and its fit with Ashland:
"U.S. Bank is located in Ashland to meet the financial needs of our customers and to partner with Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the other organizations that help make our community more vibrant.
Our community focus, local decision making and a culture of “can do” when it comes to looking for solutions and resources for our customers. Also, the way we conduct ourselves: U.S. Bank’s service standards require that we strive to make every single interaction with our customers and community a memorable one.
By its very nature as a university town, and one which hosts a wide range of arts and civic organizations, Ashland is an environment of possibility. We have the opportunity to take advantage of that creativity in the way we engage with our customers and look for solutions to their needs. Also, we enjoy the privilege of volunteering for remarkable local groups and initiatives; this enriches our connections to others and the community at large.
Volunteering for the Chamber of Commerce or any other organization may seem like something I am “giving”, but in reality I am receiving the gift. My work with the Chamber Music Concerts on the Southern Oregon University campus, Chamber of Commerce and Southern Oregon Chinese Cultural Association – all have brought me perspective, purpose, new relationships and joy. When I allow myself to give fully to my pursuits – professional and personal – I am enriched!"
